DC Bandipora hands over Gudda Guddi Boards to Anganwari Centres

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza handed over Gudda Guddi Boards to the Panchayat Supervisors that will be installed in every Panchayat to record the sex ratio.On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Bandipora interacted with the Supervisors and Anganwari workers and urged them to maintain the Gudda Guddi Board to record error free sex ratio at village level besides asking them to maintain growth chart so that the growth of children is recorded to identify malnutrition and stunted growth.He said the Gudda Guddi boards will be available in all 803 ICDS centers of the district and weighting machines have already been provided to every Anganwari center to record height and weight of every child on monthly basis.While discussing the importance of maintaining a growth chart, he said that it will help in tracking the growth of a child and addressing need for supplement.The meeting also deliberated upon the recording of Panchayat Development Index (PDI) that aims to capture movement in development at grass root level with health of children as an important parameter besides Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and allied sectors, skill and self-employment, financial inclusion and basic infrastructure.Additional Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad and District Social Welfare Officer Altaf Hussain were also present on the occasion.
