Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur Today released book ‘History of Himachal Pradesh’ written by noted author and retired IAS officer K. R. Bharti at Oak Over today. The book has been published by the Himachal Academy of Arts, Culture and Language.While appreciating the efforts of the author, Chief Minister said that study of history was important as it allows the reader to understand our past and thus helps to understand our present in better way. He said that reconstruction of past was not an easy task thus the efforts of the author were indeed laudable.The Chief Minister said that K.R.Bharti has shown a great deal of diligence to write this voluminous work that covers all periods of history of this beautiful State. He expressed hope that the book would be useful to both students as well as researchers. He also released two books written by Sudarshan Vashisht and Bharti Kuthiala. Director LAC Kumud Singh, Secretary Himachal Academy of Arts, Culture and Language Dr. Karam Singh, OP Sharma, Inder Thakur and Editor Prachand Samay Ashwini Verma were present on the occasion.
