Horticulture department, Ganderbal today organized a machinery exhibition at Wakura, Ganderbal to provide farm machinery and equipment to orchardists and growers at their doorstep.The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shafqat Iqbal, Director Horticulture, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Chief Horticulture Officer, Ganderbal and Tehsildar Wakura were present on the occasion.The department had setup stalls to showcase latest farm machinerie.The Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal along with Director Horticulture inspected these stalls during which the technical officials of the department briefed them about the functioning of the machines and equipment.Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Commissioner urged the farmers to utilize the services of departmental experts and avail full benefits of the departmental schemes.Director Horticulture Ajaz Ahmad Bhat who attended the farmers meet gave brief of all the schemes in places for the benefit of the orchardists.On the occasion, 54 Motor Power Sprayers, 58 Bush Cutters, 23 Power weeders, 4 Orchard Tractors were provided to the orchardists on subsidized rates.
