To commemorate the social, cultural and political achievements of Women across the globe on International Women’s day ,the Jammu Kashmir Rural Livelihoods Mission celebrated women’s day at different blocks of Kashmir division.The theme of the Programme was “Plant a tree for me”. On the occasion Self Help Groups of JKSRLM were made aware about the importance and role of tress in our lives and later various saplings of chinar trees were planted by SHGs across various districts of Kashmir.Additional Mission Director JKRLM, Kashmir Sajid Yehaya Naqash said that the mission is a unique programme focusing on women empowerment through self-managed self-sustainable livelihoods aimed at removal of poverty.“The core belief is that the women have immense capabilities and strong desire to overcome poverty,” he said.On International Women’s Day the department celebrates the success of women and aim was to attract the women towards the mission of self-sustenance, self-reliance and the independence, he added.
