One day Drug De- addiction seminar was held at GDC (Government Degree College) Anantnag.On the Occasion Excise Department Officer, Tariq Ahmad was the Chief Guest.The main aim of the seminar was to raise awareness among the students about the menace of drug addiction and working out ways to rehabilitate the drug affected.While speaking on the seminar Mr. Tariq said, that there is urgent need of organizing such seminars to prevent the young generation from indulging on drug addiction. "The purpose of conducting such seminars is to sensitize students regarding the harmful effects of Drugs", he added.Principal GDC Anantnag Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Mir also addresses the students and said, that we should come forward and join such initiatives that are aimed in eradicating the menace of Drug Addiction. "The high aspirations, stress and family discord are few reasons due to which one gets attracted towards Drug Addiction",he added,Prof Fayaz Ahmad from chemistry department also spoke on the occasion highlighted the importance of Drug De-addiction.Junaid Amin, a student of B.sc 5th sem highlighted the aims and objectives of programme. Naveed ul Haq a 5th Sem student also participated in the seminar who expressed his views on the topic of Drug De-addiction.Prof. Arshid Hussain from Sociology, Prof Shabir Ahmad, Prof Nazrul Islam Prof. Iftikar Ahmad, other faculty members and students of college attended the Seminar.
