As a part of the World Wildlife Day, Bhaderwah Forest Division today launched an awareness campaign on importance of wildlife for mankind, involving students, Panchayat-members forest officials and members of civil society.District Development Commissioner, Doda, Dr Sagar Dattaray Doifode, was the chief guest at the launch ceremony.In his address, the DDC called for protecting the diverse wildlife, including Leopard, Musk dear, barking dear, Goral, black bear, fox and beside several birds in the rich coniferous forests of Doda district. He urged the people to supplement the efforts of Government and Forest Department from protection of wildlife.Divisional Forest Officer, Bhaderwah Chander Shekhar said that the theme of the day is ‘Sustaining All Life on Earth’ and the campaign is aimed at to create awareness among people on protection of wildlife.Later, students and panchayat members also spoke on the importance of wildlife for mankind. The proceedings of the awareness campaign were conducted by renowned educationist, Arif Rana.Prominent among others present were ADC Bhadarwah Rakesh Kumar; CEO BDA, Dr Rajinder Khajuria; DFO demarcation M S Jamwal; DM, SFC Hatinder Singh Chndel and Tehsildar, Zeeshan Tahir and others.
