District Development Commissioner Ganderbal today convened a meeting with the concerned departments to finalize the arrangements for the National Integration Camp being organized in the district.The meeting was attended by ADC, Ganderbal Farooq Ahmad Baba, ASP Ganderbal, Executive Engineer PHE, CMO, EO Municipality, Deputy Director Nehru Yuva Kendra Srinagar, AD Fire and Emergency Services Ganderbal besides officials from FCS&CA and PDD .The meeting was informed that Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports Government of India is organizing National Integration Camp at Government Physical Education College Gadoora, Ganderbal from 4th to 8th March in which 250 students from various states are participating.The aim of organizing the camp is to promote spirit of national integration through engagement between the states and union territories with special emphasis on Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.During the meeting threadbare discussion was held on various arrangements to be put in place including security, health, sanitation in and around the venue, water and electricity supply, heating arrangement and public addressing system for successful conduct of the camp. The ADC was nominated Nodal Officer.The PHE department was asked to ensure uninterrupted water supply at the venue besides keeping water tanker available. The Health department was asked to keep ambulance with medical and paramedical staff and essential medicines available at the venue during the camp.Similarly, PDD was asked to arrange one gen set at the venue which can be used in case of power cuts.Regarding accommodation, the Principal asked to make arrangements with regard to accommodation of the participants in the college camps. While Fire and Emergency Services Department was asked to keep fire tender available at the venue on inauguration and culmination day besides CAPD was asked to arrange LPG cylinders for heating purposes at the camp.The EO Municipality was asked to deploy dedicated staff at the venue.
