The third evening of the 'Patiala Heritage Festival-2020' being organized here today at the Qila Mubark courtesy Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department, Punjabi and the  District Administration with the assistance of the Indian National Trust for Rural Heritage and Development, turned out to be a memorable one for the art and music connoisseurs. The 'Sitar Vaadan' by Padmashri Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan completely held the audience spellbound while Padmashri Shovna Narayan mesmerized the audience with performance of 'Kathak'. As the fingers of Ustad Shahid Parvez Khan touched the strings of Sitar and played 'Raag Bhim Palasi', the atmosphere reverberated with the thunderous applause by the audience. The able company of Pandit Mithilesh Kumar Jha, a disciple of Pandit Gopi Kant Jha, on Tabla added further colour to the already captivating performance. The perfect symphony of the classical music weaved magic at the audience.Mrs. Shovna Narayan and her fellow arists presented dance drama 'NOORJAHAN' on the lyrics 'Teri Nazar Se Jab Koi Jaam Piya Maine' through 'Kathak', enthralled the connnoiseurs of dance no end. The dance drama depicted love between Noorjahan and Jahangir and the soulful presentation of 'Mein Tere Angon Ka Vaibhav' through Kathak dance also captivated the audience.

Afterwards, Shovna Narayan rendered a beautiful performance depicting the emotions one witnesses on the occasion of Marriage till the bride departs, via composition of Amir Khusro 'Bahut Rahi Babul Ghar Dulhan Chal Tere Pi Ney Bulayi', apart from another striking the very chords of the heart performance based on Husband - Wife union through 'Dono Bhaye Ek Rang', 'Aaj Rang Hey Maa Rang Hai Ri' also held the people spellbound. She brought her wonderful  performance to conclusion depicting Queen Noorjahan through tarana. The stage was ably compeered by famous anchor and film director Mrs. Sadhna Srivastava.Among other dignitaries present on the occasion included Lok Sabha MP from Patiala Mrs. Preneet Kaur, Mayor Mr. Sanjeev Sharma, Chairperson Punjab State Social Welfare Board Mrs. Gursharan Kaur, Chairman Gau Sewa Commission Punjab Mr. Sachin Sharma, President District Congress Committee Urban Mr. K. K. Malhotra, Director Indian Music Society Mrs. Anita Singh, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit and the Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mrs. Poonamdeep Kaur.In her address on the occasion, Mrs. Preneet Kaur said that owing to the untiring efforts of the Captain Amarinder Singh led Government, Patiala is emerging on the epicenter of tourism and would soon be the Tourism capital of Punjab. She also congratulated the Tourism Department and the District Administration on the success of the festival and exhorted the art as well as the Music lovers to throng the festival in large numbers.
