Internal Quality Assurance Cell of the Guru Nanak Dev University in collaboration with QS-I-GAUGE conducted one day workshop on Rating/Accreditation as a tool for improvement in quality of higher education. A large number of participants from various colleges affiliated to university and other colleges from various regions of Punjab and India took part in the workshop.Prof. Padmanathan Ramanujum, Chief Knowledge Officer QS, Mr. Shubhayou Nayak, Director - Client Relationsalong with Mr. Sachin Associate Director Client Relations from QS-I-GAUGE were the recourse persons for the workshop. They shed light on the need of getting rated to improve the quality of teaching and learning. They discussed various quality parameters used to assess the quality by QS a UK based agency to accredit institute on quality parameter in higher education.The representatives from QS-I-GAUGE felt happy that Guru Nanak Dev University had participated for QS-I-GAUGE for its rating, for which, the data has already been submitted. They express their happiness over the calm ambience, cleanliness and infrastructure of the University and appreciated the efforts of Prof.(Dr.) Jaspal Singh Sandhu, Vice-chancellor for providing the quality education to students.The event was presided over by Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. S. S. Behl. Prof. Behl emphasized to follow rating system to improve the quality of higher education. At the same time he talked to adopt dynamic mechanism foraccreditation of the institutions based on social as well as cultural aspects of the locality of institution. Prof. Renu Bhardwaj,director IQAC, welcomed the participants and dignitaries. Dr. Tejwant Singh proposed the vote of thanks.
