DDC Kathua reviews preparation for holding Medical Camps in border areas

District Development Commissioner, O P Bhagat, today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for holding medical camps by Indian Red Cross Society in border areas of Kathua in the month of February and March.During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held regarding organizing such camps for border dwellers of Kathua district.It was proposed in the meeting that first such camp will be organized at Manyari Panchayat Ghar of Hiranagar Sub Division in which General Physician, Gynecologist, Orthopedician, Pediatrician, Eye Specialist, Dental Surgeon with Para Medical staff including Lab Technician, ECG Technician will render their services to the border dwellers.DDC directed the CMO, Dr. Ashok Chaudhary and Medical Superintendent, Associated Hospital GMC Kathua, Dr. Chitra to make sure the availability of doctors along with the medicines for the Medical Camp.Later, the DDC also chaired a meeting of monitoring committee under Decentralization Policy for procurement of Supplementary Nutrition under ICDS. In the meeting, monthly progress of implementation of nutrition programme under ICDS was reviewed and it was decided that a feedback gathering mechanism must be devised to point out any deficiency in the implementation of the programme and what necessary steps must be taken for improving/strengthening the present policy.The Committee is mandated to resolve the inter-departmental issues concerning procurement of Supplementary Nutrition besides supervising and monitoring the procurement, expenditure, quality control, hygiene and other related issues, DDC, the Chairman of the committee informed.He also divulged that District Monitoring Committee shall take due cognizance of recommendations of Block Development Council for overall improvement of the procurement policy and shall resolve other issues of ICDS sector which are referred to the committee.Secretary, DLSA Kathua, Aarti Mohan, ACD, Narayan Dutt Sharma, ASP, Ramnish Gupta, SE PHE, Suresh Sabharwal, PO ICDS, Ritu Mahajan, DEPO, Aruna Sharma, TSWO, CEO MC Kathua, Sanjeev Kumar, EOs of Municipal Committees and other concerned were also present in the meeting.
