The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg today chaired an awareness cum training programme of farmers organized by horticulture department under MIDH scheme at TRC Handwara.Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, Chief Horticulture Officer, Block Development Council Chairperson Mawar, besides various farmers from handwara and other adjoining areas took part in the training programme.During the programme the experts of the Horticulture Department deliver lectures on various new techniques of farming.On the occasion, the DDC in his speech said that the district has a potential of horticulture produce. He added that with the new techniques of farming and plantation of high density plants, farmers can improve their yield.Earlier, the DDC chaired a meeting of tehsildars and other concerned officers of the Handwara Sub-division at Administrative block. The DDC took a detailed review of preparedness for upcoming Panchayat By Elections and directed the concerned tehsildars to visit the polling stations and ensure that all the arrangements have been put in place for upcoming election.
