Principal Secretary, Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Transport, Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon on Thursday chaired a meeting of officers of Bandipora district.The meeting was attended by District Development Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza, Additional Deputy Commissioner Zahoor Ahmad Mir, Joint Director Planning Imtiyaz Ahmad, and Heads of various departments, District officers and other senior officers of the district.Dr Samoon called for developing eco-friendly infrastructure so that more tourists are attracted to the place. He urged the officers to come up with innovative ideas to give flip to different agro-based sectors so that more educated youth are attracted for establishing income generating units.Earlier DDC Bandipora gave a detailed account of various works undergoing in different sectors and briefed the chair about the progress on implementation several projects besides discussing the issues that hinder the pace of work.Dr Samoon directed the officers and executing agencies to ensure completion of all works within stipulated time frame. He also stressed for regular field visits to ensure works are executed on time and under set quality parameters. He stressed upon the officers to work in coordination for achieving all the set targets on time besides gear up their men and machinery for bringing additional vibrancy in the departmental functioning.Earlier Dr Samoon visited National Fish Seed Farm Mansbal. On the occasion Director Fisheries Mohammad Amin Bhat informed about status of Fry production during the current fiscal, and said that a considerable number has been stocked in natural water bodies under qua-ranching programme and supplied to various private and government run carp farms.The Principal Secretary was acquainted with the revenue achievement owing to supply of seed, sale of fish, license recovery and sale of pelleted feed to private entrepreneurs. He was also briefed about the progress of various centrally sponsored schemes. Dr Samoon also inspected Indoor stadium Shadipora. He also inspected the ongoing works on DH Bandipora, ST Hostel building and TIC SK Payeen constructed by Tourism Department.
