“Tourist Guide Training Programme” was inaugurated in the The Department of Tourism and Hospitality of Guru Nanak Dev University. This course will be of six months duration in which participants will learn about various skills and competencies that are required for Tourist guide.It will cover the different disciplines of Tourism Industry like Eco Tourism, Rural Tourism, Health Tourism, Geography, History, Communication skills, and foreign language etc. Participants will also seek knowledge about conducting guided tours. On successful completion of this programme, participants will be awarded with Tour guiding license by “Punjab Heritage and Tourism Promotion Board” (Government of Punjab).Course was inaugurated by cake cutting ceremony. Professor Mandeep Kaur, Incharge and Madam Harpreet Kaur (PHTPB) addressed the participants and made them familiar with rules and regulations and significance of the course.
