Department of Education, Kulgam, today organised an awareness programme on Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) here today.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC, Showkat Aijaz Bhat who was also chief-guest congratulated all the girls of the district who have secured positions in various exams.He also highlighted the importance of the BBBP campaign and urged to work on mission mode to transform the society and to eliminate social evils which have developed in the society.On the occasion various speakers including District Programme Officer Riyaz Ahmad Sofi and Dy-CEO Bashir Ahmad Trali, highlighted the need and importance of ‘Save Gild Child’ campaign, saying that such awareness camps would help in ensuring empowerment of women through education and equal participation in all the fields. On the occasion a skit on Beti Bacho Beti Padhao was presented by Girls of Government Girls Higher Secondary kulgam.Later DDC felicitated meritorious girls of the district who have bagged positions in different classes. Girls who have shown outstanding performances in Sports field were also felicitated. Sanitary napkins were also distributed among girls.CDPO's, Supervisors, Aaganwardi workers were also present on the occasion.
