Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav today chaired meeting of District Road Safety Committee to discuss road safety measures.The meeting was attended by ADC Shehraz Malik , SSP Ramesh Angral, CMO Ghulam Ahmed Malik,ARTO Jughal Kishore, CEO Education Jagjeet Singh, representative of 79 RCC , Executive Engineer PWD and other members of district road safety committee.Threadbare discussion was held on road safety, improvement of road markings, identification of blind spots on different routes, construction of crash barriers, regulations of public transport vehicles and school buses.The DC directed the ARTO for strict implementation of fitness certificate norms, reflectors behind vehicles and overloading. He further directed to prioritize the accident prone areas so that work could be done for improvement in a timely manner.DC also called for awareness camps on road safety measures. He further instructed that fire extinguishers and first Aid box should be present in public vehicles.
