District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria today convened a meeting of district officers to discuss activities to be carried in the district regarding girl child education and empowerment campaign.Chief Planning Officer, Sukhleen Kour, District Information Officer, Ajay Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer, Deep Kumar, Assistant Road Transport Officer, Rehana Tabassum, Chief Education Officer and District Youth Sports Officer were present in the meeting.DDC, who is also Chairman BBBP scheme, emphasized on generating maximum awareness regarding protection and education of girl Child by involving all the stakeholders. He said during this financial year in addition to the already carried out activities, meritorious girl child of class 10th and 12th in district Samba shall be honoured by memento’s and cash prizes from district administration.DDC laid emphasis upon opening exclusive women play ground to promote physical activities among the girl child. He directed DYSSO Samba to organize girls volley ball match and felicitate the participants under BBBP scheme.DDC directed ARTO to open an exclusive girls driving institute to promote equitable growth of the girls besides enabling them a employment opportunity. He directed DIO Samba to publicize the activities calendar in order to generate maximum response from the local population.He exhorted upon all the district officers to work in a coherent and tandem fashion in order to attain maximum results. He also asked them to complete the assigned activities within time and report in his office with work done report.
