DDC Doda launches "Backyard Horticulture" programme

District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode today launched Backyard Horticulture programme under the scheme Capex 2019-20.The program was attended by BDC Chairman Ghat, President MC Doda, CHO, DHO, Sarpanch Pranoo, senior officers of the concerned departments besides large gathering of farmers/beneficiaries.Addressing the participants, the DDC said that 7000 families/households are going to be covered across the district. Around 05 number different kind of fruit plants will be given to each household on 90% subsidy.He further stated that the aim of the programme is to bring the small portion of land available around the houses under horticulture crops.DDC appreciated the Horticulture Department for undertaking this revolutionary step which will not only increase the number of plants across the district benefitting the environment, but also will generate the local economy.DDC directed the CHO Doda to establish a grievance cell on priority basis and publicize the phone number of grievance cell across the district so that the orchardists of different areas can register their grievances which can be redressed as early as possible.President MC Doda, Sarpanch Pranoo and CHO Doda also addressed the gathering on the occasion and appreciated the program.
