The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg, chaired a meeting of concerned officers to review the progress of projects approved under Aspirational District Programme (ADP) here today.Among others, Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; District Panchayat Officer, Shujaat Qureshi; CMO, AD Handloom, CDPOs, representatives of Education, Handicrafts and other concerned departments attended the meeting.The meeting was informed that NITI AYOG has approved additional funds of Rs.3 crore under Aspirational District Programme for improving the developmental scenario in Health & Nutrition, Education and Skill Development in the district. Under the program, 15 Health and Wellness Centres are coming up at a cost of Rs.75 lakh. It was also informed that Rs.76 lakh has already been approved for the procurement of medical equipment for Sub District Hospital Kupwara. The meeting was informed that face-lifting of 20 middle schools is undergoing at Rs.30 lakh while Rs.20 lakh have also been approved for installation of vending machines in 123 colleges, higher secondary and high schools by NITI AYOG.In a separate meeting, the DDC reviewed the status of damage assessment of orchards which suffered huge loss in November 7 snowfall.He directed the concerned officers to speed up the process of consolidation and submit final details of the damages for further necessary action.The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; ADC Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir; Chief Agriculture Officer Kupwara, Chief Horticulture Officer Kupwara and other concerned.
