The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Kupwara, Anshul Garg convened a meeting of Engineers of various departments to review the progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and statues of languishing projects in the district, here today.The meeting was attended by Superintending Engineer Hydraulic Circle Handwara, Executive Engineers of PHE Division Kupwara and Handwara, Executive Engineer SSD Tangdar and Executive Engineers of I&FC Division Kupwara and Handwara.It was informed in the meeting that out of 130159 reported households in the district, 33577 have been provided tap water connections under 31 schemes while remaining households are being covered under 224 under construction schemes.The DDC directed the concerned Engineers to speed up the online processing of the data and prioritize the remaining households under the scheme. He also asked the concerned to submit a Detailed Project Report(DPR) about the covered and uncovered households. The concerned Engineers have been asked to formulate an Action Plan for training field functionaries, besides conducting workshops, in this regard.The meeting was informed that under PHE sector 73 projects have been approved at a cost of Rs.19806 lakh in the district and the deadline for completion of remaining projects have been set the end of this December.Under I&FC sector, 17 projects have been approved at a cost of Rs.6631 lakh in the district. Out of these, the this March has been fixed deadline for completing 12 projects while 5 projects will have to be completed by March 2021.The DDC directed the concerned engineers to speed up the pace of ongoing works for timely completion.
