District Development Commissioner, G N Itoo today launched the “Nationwide Artificial Insemination Programme” (NAIP) at Block Veterinary Office, Pattan.On the occasion, he congratulated the Animal Husbandry Department for prompt uploading of NAIP related data on NADRS website. He assured of framing a Market Checking Committee within a week’s time frame to end the exploitation of Dairy Farmers by opportunist sellers.DDC was also presented the Coffee Table book on Livestock Breeding Policy 2019 on behalf of Principal Secretary, Asgar Hassan Samoon.Giving details of the NAIP under Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Chief Executive Officer, Livestock Development Board-Kashmir, Dr. Ramesh Razdan, exhorted upon the Dairy farmers of valley to avail full benefits of free A.I. facility under the scheme. He said that sufficient numbers of quality semen straws of HF, Jersey and Red Sindhi are available at all the Veterinary centers of the Department.Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Baramulla, Dr. Altaf Kangoo thanked all the participants, farmers and assured cooperation to the dairy farmers.
