Jai Ram Thakur urges young professionals of Himachal working abroad to contribute towards development of state

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has urged the educated young professionals of Himachal Pradesh working abroad and in other states to also contribute towards the development journey of State. He was talking to Siddharth Lakhanpal and Gautami Srivastava, two young social entrepreneurs from Shimla who had met him at his official residence Oak Over yesterday. Gautami has done her Masters from University of Sussex, UK, while Siddharth pursued his Master's in Development Studies from Ambedkar University Delhi. In order to launch their own social enterprise, Gautami left her job at NITI Aayog and Siddharth has also quit Institute for Human Development, a think tank in Delhi. Their Startup aims at rural empowerment through livelihood upliftment. Talking about converting the Brain Drain to Brain Gain, Chief Minister said that the government has launched several schemes including CM Startup scheme to encourage and support such proactive youth who want to work towards boosting the State's rural economy. Chief Minister congratulated both of them for launching first of its kind Startup in the State and hoped that more such young professionals settled outside the State would also be inspired.
