DC Baramulla reviews action plan for IPPI

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo today convened a meeting of District Taskforce Committee to review the action plan for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) in the district.Chief Medical Officer, Chief Education Officer, Dy CMO, District Immunization Officer and other concerned were were present in the meeting.The meeting discussed arrangements put in place for the programme, the DC emphasized for mobilizing required manpower for the smooth immunization campaign.The meeting was informed that 1.62 lakh children in the age group of 0-5 years are being immunized in district and 780 immunization booths have been established with transit points and mobile booths. As many as 3308 employees from health department, ASHA workers, ICDS and other volunteers have been deployed across the district.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC directed the concerned to work in close coordination for the success of the campaign. He directed for ensuring timely availability of vaccine particularly in remote areas of the district.The DDC was informed that a door to door campaign is also part of the programme to cover the left-out children in the district. He asked the concerned to launch mass media campaign about the programme to create awareness among the masses.
