District Development Commissioner, Budgam Tariq Hussain Ganai, today convened a meeting to take stock of snow clearance, connectivity, restoration of essential services in the district.The meeting was attended by ADC, Mushtaq Ahmad Simnani, CPO, ACR, ACD, SDMs, Executive Engineers of PDD, R&B and Mechanical departments and other concerned.The Mechanical Department authorities informed the meeting that all major roads have been cleared of snow and the operation is in full swing to clear remaining roads. The DDC directed R&B authorities to ensure all major, circular and link roads within their domain are cleared of snow on war footing.He directed Executive Engineer PDD to mobilize field staff for restoration of damaged HT, LT lines across the district. The PDD authorities informed the meeting that restoration work on damaged feeders is in progress. The PHE department was asked to ensure scheduled water supply to all towns and villages, besides deploying water tankers where required in the district. The FCS&CA authorities were asked to make ration including food grains, LPG, K-oil and petroleum products available to the consumers across the district.The DDC took stock of health services and availability of medicines in health institutions. He directed the CMO to ensure proper heating arrangements in the health institutions and provide hassle-free health services to pregnant women.
