In order to streamline the sanitation system in Mohali, a new initiative of Beat System was today inaugurated by the Health and Family Welfare, Labour Minister, Punjab, Mr. Balbir Singh Sidhu at the ESI, Phase 7, Industrial Area.The minister on the occasion said that four new beats have been formed in the industrial area phase 7 & 8 under the system. An area of one KM has been formed in each beat and a person has been entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring cleanliness. The concerned person would click a picture after reaching the spot after which his attendance would be marked. This would ensure the attendance of the employees on one hand while being helpful in keeping a check on the sanitation system.The minister further said that it was the long pending demand of the industrialists to start this beat system of cleanliness. Afterwards, the minister visited the ESI hospital and gave directions for its efficient running. Among others present on the occasion included the Political Secretary of the minister Harkesh Chand Sharma Machhli Kalan, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Kamal Garg, Secretary Municipal Corporation Ranjeev Kumar, SDO Sukhwinder Singh, Chief Sanitary Inspector Harbant Singh, Chief Sanitary Inspector Sarbjit Singh, Industrialist Sanjeev Vashisht, Anurag Aggarwal, B L Goyal, Rajiv Gupta, Ramesh Chawla, Kewal Sandhu, Vikas Kaushal and Mukesh Bansal.
