31st Road Safety Week : Transport Commissioner inaugurates Poster making, painting competitions

A poster making and painting competition was today held by the Motor Vehicles Department here as part of series of activities being organized by it to mark the 31st Road Safety Week.Over 500 students from different schools of Jammu participated in the mega event held at Wave Mall.Transport Commissioner, J&K, Dr. Owais Ahmed, inaugurated the event.The main purpose of the event was to provide the students an opportunity to express their ideas about road safety rules and measures.The response of the students was overwhelming as they presented very meaningful drawings about the road safety measures and to work as Road Safety Ambassadors.Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Dhananter Singh, accompanied by ARTOs and MVIs were also present on the occasion.Meanwhile, as  part of its initiative to reign in traffic violations,   Motor Vehicles Department, Jammu, launched “Gift a Rose campaign” at various crossings of the Jammu city to make violators realize their fault.
