District Development Commissioner Anantnag Khalid Jahangir chaired a meeting of engineers to review the progress of various projects being executed by JKERA, JKPCC and R&B in the district.The DDC asked the engineers to speed up the pace of work on these projects, so that the projects are completed within the given time frame.The Deputy project manager and Executive Engineer JKERA informed the meeting that Sangam-Khudawani road having a length of 4.79 kms and Bijbehara-Waghama-Khitriteng having a total length of 8.39 km road projects funded by World Bank are being taken up by the agency at a cost of Rs 16.57 crore.The DGM JKPCC informed the meeting that execution of Halmullah- Panchpora-Kralkoot road having a length of 3.33 kms with the estimated cost of Rs.498 lacks is under execution.The Executive Engineer R&B Khanabal informed the meeting that the construction of two additional class rooms at Arwani Hafizabad, Subhanpora will be completed by the end of April 2020.The meeting was further informed that work on 30-meter Sodora steel bridge is also being taken up soon. The DDC also directed Executive Engineer R&B Khanabal to ensure the completion of additional twelve class rooms for degree college Bijbehara by the end of November 2020.
