The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, under the leadership of youth leader and MLA Meet Hayer, announced the formation of a  12-member state committee of the Chhatra Yuva Sangharsh Samiti (CYSS) here on Friday, with Resham Singh Godara, a student leader of Panjab University, Chandigarh, installed in charge of the Chandigarh unit.Addressing the media at the party office in Chandigarh here on Friday, Meet Hayer informed that former student leader Navjot Singh Saini, former CYSS state president, Parminder Singh Goldi, Satbir Singh Seera Banbhoura (Amloh) and RTI activist and former president of Guru Nanak Dev University, Sukhraj Singh Bal, Resham Singh Godara, DAV College (Jalandhar) student leader Harsh Singh, Kabul Singh (PU), former student leader Dinesh Chadha has been appointed advisor while Punjab University, Rajdeep Singh Brar (Amargarh), Navreet Kaur, (PU), Narinder Kaur Bharaj (Punjabi University) and Ramandeep Sidhu (Bathinda) were appointed as members while Dinesh Chadha was nominates advisor of the CYSS.Speaking on the occasion, Meet Hayer said that for the past over two decades, the issues and concerns of students in the state had not been addressed, as the subsequent governments had used the students as weapons to leverage it for their petty political ends. He said that the traditional party governments in the state had failed to replicate Chandigarh’s poll pattern in the state colleges and universities, to deliver on the promises of government job in every household, grant of unemployment allowances, ensuring under/ post matric scholarships for SC students and unde-privileged students, adding that government schools, colleges and universities were grappling with funds and staff crunch, as the government in the saddle was promoting private education mafia in the state while Dalit and under-privileged children were denied equal opportunity to pursue higher education. The AAP leader said that the CYSS would take up issues and concerns of the students from the street to the Assembly and the CYSS would play a proactive role in the protections of the interests of the students.Other who were present on the occasion included Youth Wing President, Manjinder Singh Sidhu, Resham Singh Godara, Gagandeep Singh Chadha, Seera Bhanora, Dinesh Chadha, Navjot Saini and Narendra Kaur Bharaj, who also addressed the gathering on the occasion.
