Guru Nanak Dev University will host YUVFORIA-2019, a prestigious 35th North Zone Inter-University Youth Festival from December 25 to 29, 2019. This festival will be held in association with Assocation of Indian Universities, New Delhi will show case the competitions in the items of Music, Dance, Theatre, Fine arts and others. As many as 1500 student-artists from 37 universities from North India are participating in this fest.Dr. Hardeep Singh, Organising Secretary of the fest and Dean Student's Welfare said that S. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Cabinet Minister will inaugurate the festival on December 25 at 11.30 am in the Dasmesh Auditroium of the University. S. Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Cabinet Minister, Higher Education will be the chief guest on the last will distribute trophies to the winners. He said that Vice Chancellor Prof. Jaspal Singh Sandhu is the President of the Organizing Committee while Prof. Sarbjot Singh Behl, Dean Academic Affairs is the Patron and Prof. Karanjit Singh Kahlon, Registrar  is Vice Patron of the Organizing Committee for the smooth conduct of this fest.Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sandhu said that it is matter of pride that Association of Indian Universities has given an opportunity to the Guru Nanak Dev University to host the 35th Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival "YUVFORIA-2019". He said that our team on the campus is all very exuherant and geared up to extend a heartwarming welcome to the participants.

He said that all essential arrangements for the comfortable stay of the student-artists coming from the north part of the country has been assured by assigning duties to various committees. He said that this will be the biggest platform for the student-artists to showcase their talent. He said that Guru Nanak Dev University had the honour of supremacy in the cultural & arts field during the competions organized by Association of Indian Universities, Govt. of India, Punjab Govt. and won championship and runners Up Trohphies at the Zonal and National Level.Dr. Hardeep Singh said that the events during this festival will be held at various venues i.e. Venue I: Dasmesh Auditorium; Venue II : Sri Guru Granth Sahib Bhawan; Venue III: Confernce Hall Guru Nanak Bhawan;  and Venue IV: Architecture Department. He said that on December 25 after the inaugural ceremony, Mimicry, Mime (Venue-I), On the Spot Photography, Collage (Venue-IV) will be organized . He said that On December 26, Skit, Folk Orchestra, One Act Play (Venue-I), Western Solo, Classical Vocal (Solo), Classical Dance (Venue-II). Elocution (Venue-III).  On the Spot Painting, Clay Modelling (Venue-IV) will be held. On December 27 competions of One Act Play, Western Group Song (Venue-I), Classical (Inst.) (Non-Percussion), Classical (Inst.) Percussion (Venue-II), Debate (Venue-III), Rangoli, Cartooning (Venue-IV) will be organized and on December 28, competions of Group Song (Indian), Folk / Tribal Dance (Venue-I), Light Vocal (Indian), Western (Instrument) Solo (Venue-II), Quiz Preliminary, Quiz Final (Venue-III), Installation, Mehndi, Poster Making (Venue-IV) will be held. He said that on December 29, the Valedictory function of the fest will be held in Dasmesh Auditorium.He said that this festival play a significant and important role in inculcating spirit of brotherhood and national integration in the young minds of the participants. These programs also help in promoting positive human values through healthy competitive interactions among the youth.
