The Chairperson Jammu and Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) Dr.Hina Shafi Bhat, today inaugurated District office building cum craft training centre in Shopian today.The building coming up at Rs. 69.76 lakh is being executed by JKPCC.The District Development Commissioner Shopian, Chaudhary Mohammad Yasin, Deputy Chief Executive Officer KVIB (Kashmir Division) Muzafar Abdullah Alaqband and other officers were present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the specific role of KVIB is to promote Village Industries for the purpose of employment generation and to facilitate rural development. He emphasized upon concerned officers for making the KVIB scheme customer friendly by handhold the entrepreneurs so that real objective of the scheme is achieved on the ground.Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hina said under ESPIRE Scheme Government has already sanctioned Rs.100 crore for skill and infrastructure development in a convergence programme with animal husbandry, Horticulture, Floriculture and Handicrafts departments.She said a vigorous campaign will be launched by the board in near future to provide sustainable self-income generating units to the youth. She added that the Government is committed to change their fate and the District Administration will provide support to implementation of all the Boards programme especially the ESPIRE programme.
