Census Department organizes six days Training of Trainers programme

Joint Director, Department of Census J&K Rajesh N Malvia inaugurated a six days Training of Trainers programme aimed at collection of data for Census-2021 began today at both the Campuses of IMPARD, Jammu & Kashmir.Addressing the participants, he said that during these six days 29 officers drawn from various departments will be developed as Master Trainers who will in turn train the field trainers and enumerators designated for carrying out census operations in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. He also laid emphasis on the process of collecting, compiling analyzing and dissemination of demographic, economic and social data pertaining to people in the country which will form the basis for scientific planning and implementation of various policies and programmes. He also outlined the need and relevance of mobile applications for collection of data and information in a scientific manner.Welcoming the participants, Director Trainings, IMPARD, Jammu Dr. Reva Sharma outlined the importance of Census as a primary source of data collection from every section of the society which will provide authentic information about demography, economy literacy, education, housing, health, migration disability and other socio economic and cultural sectors.Assistant Professor, IMPARD, Srinagar Dr. Bilal Ahmad Bhat, Assistant Director, Directorate of Census Dheeraj Johri and Research Officer, IMPARD, Jammu Dr. Jyoti Sadhu, are the national trainers developed by Census Department, Ministry of Home Affairs (GOI) who will coordinate the programme.
