Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal said that the food processing unit in village Bhor Saydan, Kurukshetra, will certainly help the State youth to get employment opportunities. He said that by setting up this kind of food processing unit, around one thousand youth will be employed here.He said that the youth who will be employed in this unit will get an income of about Rs 20 thousand  per month and for this the qualified youth will be imparted a  six months training in this unit and after training the youth will be able to establish their employment.The Chief Minister said this during his visit to the food processing unit being set up by a Kurukshetra-based progressive farmer Harpal Singh Bajwa. The Chief Minister visited the unit before attending the   Global Bhagavad Gita Path at the International Gita Mahotsav.During his visit to the unit, the Chief Minister obtained information about the entire process from making seeds of mushroom plant and preparing compost, packaging system and other activities. Progressive farmer Harpal Singh Bajwa further explained about every aspect of this unit and said that this unit has provided employment opportunities to around 100 people from five nearby villages.

After observing the food processing unit, the Chief Minister praised Harpal Singh Bajwa, for his contribution in the food processing unit and mushroom farm.  He said that this unit will provide employment opportunities to the youth.

Meanwhile, on the auspicious occasion of Gita Jayanti Mahotsav, Harpal Singh assured that he will give six months training to one thousand youths in this unit. After this training, the youth will be able to earn Rs 20 thousand per month. He said that by installing such units, they will be able to produce mushrooms and other products.Mr Bajwa said that in the year 1995, he had set up a mushroom farm and for this he took training from Krishi Vigyan Kendra and taking a loan of Rs 50 lakh. He said that this farm was given the shape of a large project in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture. Now a food processing unit has been set up at this place.  He further shared that in this unit, every farmer of the district who will bring tomato, spinach, mustard, garlic and other products will be given 50 paise more than the minimum price per kg.He said that this unit consumes at least 25 to 30 tons of tomatoes daily and spinach, mustard and garlic are also used in it. Mushrooms from this farm house are sent to Canada. Mustard greens will also be sent to Canada. He said that the project of Baby Corn and Sweet Corn is also being done in collaboration with the Horticulture Department. An amount of Rs 3 crore has been spent on this food processing unit since 2012. Now compost will be made from the straw.
