Vibod Gupta, former MLC, called on Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu at the Raj Bhavan here today.Sh. Gupta submitted a memorandum of demands pertaining to reservation of Pahari Speaking people of J&K, abolition of SRO 202, introduction of Sanskrit as a subject in Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, framing of transfer policy for female ReT teachers on compassionate grounds, regularization of coal mine workers of Kalakote, early start of four-laning of Jammu- Poonch highway from both sides and starting the survey for the rail link between Jammu and Poonch.He also put forth several issues and demands related to the welfare of people of twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch including developing seven lakes of twin border districts as a major tourism circuit, upgradation of status of Rajouri Municipality to Municipal Council, widening of various roads, proper sewage system for Rajouri and Poonch towns, construction of bridge between Rajouri town and New Bus Stand, augmentation of water supply in Rajouri, construction of a 2 X 200 MVA, 400/132 KV Grid Station at Dangri in Rajouri and strengthening the road connectivity in both the districts.The Lt. Governor assured Sh. Gupta that all the genuine demands and issues put forth by him would be looked into meticulously for their early redressal and urged him to continue his endeavours towards promoting public welfare.
