To review action plan for intervention of United Nation Children’s Emergency Fund in various child protection services in district, a meeting was held under the chairman ship f DDC Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat here today.The meeting was attended by ADDC, Additional SP,ADC, UNICEF State Child Protection Officer, Chairperson CWC, CMO, Dy-CEO and other officers from line department besides the representative of various NGOs.During the meeting a threadbare discussion was held for strengthening child protection services in the district.On the occasion, the State Child Protection Officer, highlighted the role of UNICEF in strengthening child protection services and also briefed the meeting about the action plan for various intervention involving adolescents by ways of mental health care services including resilience building through participatory activities and foundation skills.He assured that all possible assistance will be extended to generate awareness among the masses about child rights and concrete steps will be taken to strengthen child protection system in the district.During the meeting a detailed discussion was also held on Juvenile Justices Act and its implementation in the district.The DDC impressed upon all stakeholders to work in co-ordination and play proactive role in strengthening child protection services. He exhorted upon the officers of ICPS and other line departments to organize awareness camps for sensitizing masses about child rights and social issues including drug addition, child marriage, child labour and other serious social issues which are damaging the fabric of societal structure.
