The Department of Labour and Employment has initiated Special Enrolment Drive for unorganized workers and traders under PM-SYM (Shram Yogi Maandhan) to commemorate celebration of pension week for PM-SYM and NPS-Traders scheme.Commissioner Secretary, Labour & Employment Department, Sourabh Bhagat was the chief guest on the occasion.In this regard, a mega divisional level event was conducted today at Government Boys High School Satwari, Jammu in which a large number of students, parents and others participated.Commissioner Secretary interacted with the participants and made them aware about the aims and objectives of various components of the scheme. 'The scheme is meant for labourers and traders from unorganized sector who have monthly income of less than Rs 15,000 and will be covering individuals from 18 to 40 years of age. Under the scheme equal share would be contributed both by the subscriber and Government of India and after completing 60 years of age the subscriber would be entitled for a pension of atleast Rs 3000 per month', he added. Labour Commissioner, Abdul Rashid War; Deputy Labour Commissioner, Shahnaz Akhter; Assistant Labour Commissioner, Divya Nanda besides other officers and officials of the department and school management were present in the awareness camp.
