Take exemplary action against non performing Revenue officers: Divisional Commissioner asks DCs

Commissioner of Jalandhar Division Mr B Purusartha today asked the Deputy Commissioners of Division to take exemplary action against the non performing Revenue officers in their respective districts.Chairing a meeting here at the District Administrative Complex with the Deputy Commissioners of Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Gurdaspur, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Amritsar and Tarn Taran, the Divisional Commissioner asked the Deputy Commissioners of seven districts to expedite the process for recovering pending dues from willful defaulters by initiating stern action against them. He said that those Revenue officers who were showing any sort of callousness in ensuring recovery should be brought to book. Mr Purusartha said that this lacklustre approach should not be accepted and their non performance must reflect in their Annual Confidential Report (ACR).The Divisional Commissioner asked the Deputy Commissioners to accord top priority to the collection of the pending arrears from the defaulters. He said that the Deputy Commissioners should ask the concern officer/ official to ensure that there was zero cases of recovery pending towards them. Mr. Purushartha asked the Deputy Commissioners to fix the accountability of those officers/ officials who fail to perform their duty accordingly.

The Divisional Commissioner asked the Deputy Commissioners that the willful defaulters should not be spared at any cost and stern action should be taken against them. He said that the Revenue officers should be directed to initiate the proceedings of attaching the properties of the affluent defaulters. Mr. Purushartha said that the main focus must be on recovering every single penny back from the defaulters by taking every possible action.Meanwhile, dwelling on another agenda the Divisional Commissioners asked the Deputy Commissioners to evolve a proper mechanism to send the required record from the lower courts to his court. He said that the service of required record must be prompt so as to ensure that the public was facilitated by timely disposal of the appeals in his court. Mr. Purushartha also asked the Deputy Commissioners to further streamline the system of pendency of the different files in various branches of their offices.On the occasion Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Ms Isha Kalia, Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala Mr DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner Amritsar Mr Shiv Dular Singh, Deputy Commissioner Pathankot Mr Gurpreet Singh Khaira, and Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur Mr Vipul Ujjwal were also present.
