Deputy Commissioner Bandipora Shahbaz Ahmad Mirza Saturday inaugurated pension week in a function organised at mini secretariat Bandipora.Joint Director Planning Imitiyaz Ahmad, District Information Officer Bandipora Jahangeer Ahmad Akhoon, Assistant Labour Commissioner Bandipora Ashiq Hussain Bhat, Career Counselling Officer Bandipora Saima Bhat besides officers from various departments, Labourers, transporters, Asha Workers, Aganwari workers and other concerned participated in the function.Speaking on the occasion Shahbaz Mirza highlighted the benefits of various welfare and individual benefit schemes. He appealed people especially the unorganised workers and labours to enrol for the schemes launched by the government.The Deputy Commissioner also launched a special Enrolment Drive for these welfare schemes. Several labourers, MGNREGA workers, casual labourers of PDD and PHE, vegetable and fruit vendors, construction workers and Asha workers enrolled in these schemes on the occasion.Career Counselling Officer Bandipora briefed the participants about the various pension schemes. Giving details of PM-SYM she said, the scheme is a voluntary and contributory pension scheme for the unorganised workers belonging to the age group of 18-40 years. She said under the scheme each subscriber shall receive minimum assured pension of 3000 per month after attaining the age of 60 years.Director Planning Imitiyaz Ahmad, ALC Ashaq Hussain Bhat also spoke on the occasion and highlighted different aspects of the schemes.
