Day 2 of Back to Village 2 : Public interactions, Inauguration of works mark day 2 in Rajouri

The second day of the second phase of ambitious Back to Village programme today witnessed series of Public interactions, inauguration of works and other activities here across  the Panchayats of this border district.The designated officers interacted with people and the PRI members and frontline government functionaries to discuss and deliberate upon  the core problems being faced by the local people of the panchayats.During the programme the visiting officers organised gram sabhas in which huge public participation was  observed including women,retired government employees and senior citizens. In order to ensure the proper development of the rural areas, the visiting officers first of all  assigned the sarpanches and panches two to three portfolios of different departments so that they are able to provide essential services to the common masses in a better  manner. They also inspected the Karwai register to get the idea whether monthly meetings of PRI members which are important for the proper functioning of the panchayats are  conducted or not.They then checked the digital signatures of sarpanches and other PRI members to ensure the smooth and hassle free disbursement of funds to the panchayats  for the execution of works of different nature in the rural areas.The visiting officers also held deliberation with the prominent citizens, retired government employees and women  about the resources mapping, development of panchayats and other issues like doubling of farmers income.

The front line workers present on the occasion disseminated the  information among the general public with respect to various welfare schemes of their departments and urged upon the public to step forward and avail the benefits of these  schemes. They also replied to the queries raised by the public pertaining to their departments. The visiting officers paid visits to panchayat Ghars and checked the availability of  furniture and other essential items there. They also installed signboards at the places which have been identified for the construction of Panchayat Ghars.Later the Grah pravesh  ceremonies for the completed PMAY houses were also held in which the visiting officers handed over the keys of newly constructed houses to the beneficiaries. They also  inspected the works of different nature being executed in the rural areas by PWD, PDD, RDD etc. The visiting officers inaugurated a number of developmental works.The women  welfare officer MSK Rajouri Anum Mirza and Administrator OSC, Nitu Sharma briefed the gram sabha about the Beti Bachao,Beti Padhao Scheme and Social assistance being  provided to the women in distress. While addressing the gathering they said One stop centre for women and Mahila Shakti Kendra is committed to bring positive and sustainable  change in the lives of women of the district and reassure the faith of common populace on the institutions and instruments of justice.They highlighted the significance of the Back  to Village programme saying that the programme has the sole aim of energising the panchayats by making the idea of participatory planning a reality and listening as well as  redressing the grievances of the general public and finally providing the basic facilities at the doorstep of the general public.
