On the second day of ‘Back to Village’ Phase-II (B2V2) programme, Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Anshul Garg visited various areas of Lolab sub-division to oversee the conduct of various Gram Sabhas there.The DC was accompanied by Joint Director Planning, ACD, SDM Lolab and a team of officers. In Lolab Sub Division they participated in Gram Sabhas at Khumriyal, Cherkoot, Tekipora, Lalpora, Sogam and Gulgam, during which various community friendly activities were carried out besides inauguration and foundation of various projects was laid. The Deputy Commissioner laid the foundation stone for construction of Animal Husbandry Centre at Khumriyal-B to be constructed under Rurban Mission by Rural Development Department at a cost of Rs.20 lakh. He also inspected under-construction culvert and drain in the same village. The DC also provided a cheque of Rs.65000 to a houseless fisherman as the first instalment for construction of his residential house.Later, the DC inaugurated Kani Shawl Weaving Training Centre at Tekipora. He also inspected Kani Shawl Pashmina Weaving Training Centre at Khumriyal and Aari-Staple Training Centre at Cherkoot.The DC also inspected execution of fencing around Government Middle School Cherkoot coming up at a cost of Rs.4 lakh. He also inspected under construction fencing work of graveyard at Lalpora-A costing Rs.2.11 lakh where he directed executing agencies to complete these works within a fortnight.
On the second day of B2V2, Anshul Garg laid foundation stone of Community Sanitary Complexe at Panchayat halqa Cherkoot. He also inaugurated winter plantation drive at Higher Secondary School Lalpora in presence of DFO Kamraz Forest Division, Zahid Mughal, who informed that 1.50 lakh saplings shall be planted during the drive in the division.During the visit, DC distributed 37 old age sticks and 3 hearing aids among old-age people. These items were provided by the Social Welfare Department.The DC also distributed Pradhan Mantri Kissan Mandan Pension Yojna (PMKMPY) cards and Certificate of Recognition (recognised by Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation) among various beneficiaries during the visit to Gram Sabhas.Meanwhile, various Gram Sabhas were held in Nowgam and Langate Blocks, while as in Karnah Sub Division, Gram Sabhas were held in Tangdar and Teetwal blocks. The Sub Divisional Magistrate Karnah participated in Chinipora and Khawarpora Gram Sabhas.Later, the DC chaired a meeting with district officers wherein he stressed upon them to ensure that all field functionaries attend Gram Sabhas and provide required information regarding developmental activities with the locals.
