All India Congress Committee’s spokesperson and Cabinet Minister Vijay Inder Singla today slams the Modi Government during a protest at Bhawanigarh against the ‘anti-democracy activities’ of the BJP led Centre Government.Mr. Singla said that the constitution of India was drafted by Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on the social basis but Modi Government has tried to trample that constitutional spirit for the lust of power. He dismissed the BJP's claim of ruling as a sole party at state level, saying that in many states the BJP was ruling as a part of coalition governments.The Cabinet Minister said that democracy has been murdered in Maharashtra and BJP is trying to escape the Ajit Pawar in irrigation scam worth Rs 70,000 crore in Maharashtra. If this happens, it would be a sad day for democratic country, Minister added. He said that earlier in Karnataka, BJP Government has hurted the spirit of democracy.Mr Singla said, "This is happening for the first time in the country that at the one hand we are celebrating Constitution Day and on the other hand democracy is being trampled.’’ The Cabinet Minister strongly condemned the dual politics adopted by the BJP in Haryana for the power. He said that the firstly BJP took power for five years by ‘exploring’ a scam related to Om Prakash Chautala and now political advantage is being taken by assuming Chautala's grandson as Deputy Chief Minister. Mr. Singla said that the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah was being detained at home for the past several months and he was not being allowed to attend the ongoing Lok Sabha session, which is highly condemnable.A large number of congress workers, including District President Congress Committee Rajinder Singh Raja Bir Kalan, Anil Kumar Ghecha, were also present during the protest held by the congress against the BJP at Bhawanigarh and Sangrur.
