Gram Sabhas, awareness activities mark beginning of Back to Village 2 in Samba

Back to Village Phase II Programme was launched in 101 Panchayats of District samba with the visiting officers participating in various Gram Sabhas to receive feedback from the villagers with regard to their developmental issues. District Development Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, along with Chief Planning Officer and team of officers participated in various Gram Sabhas, interacted with the people, distributed incentives among rural beneficiaries.Additional Deputy Commissioner Samba, SDM Vijaypur and SDM Ghagwal participated in Gram Sabhas in their respective areas. The DDC participated in the Gram Sabha at village Daini, Plura, Mawa, Snoora, Rakh Amb in Ghagwal, Rajpura and Samba blocks. He inspected various stalls installed by line departments in the panchayats and exhorted to disseminate information to all the locals realising the objective of governance at doorstep. During the Gram Sabhas, people projected their demands with regard to their developmental and social issues.At various places, the DDC inspected Public Information Boards reflecting the information regarding various ongoing developmental schemes in the respective area. People were also given awareness about various centrally sponsored schemes including PMKMY, PMJDY, BBBP, and PMUY besides, fundamentally rights and duties of the citizens through PowerPoint presentation.Talking to the media persons at Daini, the DDC informed that Phase II of Back to Village Programme, is successfully being conducted across the district, for which Visiting Officers, Block Coordinators and supporting staff from District Administration have already been given necessary training to make the programme successful. He said various demands put forth by the people during Phase I of the Back to Village Programme were fulfilled while during the current Phase of Back to Village Programme, feedback with regard to their developmental needs is being ascertained and the issues raised be addressed accordingly.
