Back to Village 2 activities begin across Rajouri Panchayats

Government's unique initiative 'Back 2 village' phase II began today here across 100 Panchayats of Rajouri district   witnessing diverse range of activities involving Visiting Officers, PRIs and the public. On day one, the officers read out the charter of fundamental duties and initiated their assigned task.The people projected various demands and issues before the officers including improvement in drinking water supply, unscheduled power cuts, low voltage, enrollment of farmers in PM Kisan scheme, electrical poles, repair of damaged roads, old age pension etc.The visiting officers inspected several development works in these panchayats including PHCs, water supply schemes and traditional water bodies. They inspected the mid day meal scheme and checked the meal being served to the students besides visiting Anagwandi centres to check availability and quality of ration there. The officers also inaugurated number of development works like culverts, Fish farms, connecting paths and bridges.Later, the officers organised public interactions in which senior citizens, stakeholders, retired government employees, youth, women and the frontline workers of the department participated and projected the core issues of their concern. 

The visiting officers also discussed the means to increase the per capita income of the rural unemployed habitants.The officers apprised the people of various central and state government schemes and distributed flyers on individual oriented schemes and dossier of government schemes among the participants.The Visiting officers assessed the functioning of Panchayats and inspected the purchase record register for MDM, ICDS, pass books of 14th FC. They also discussed the critical gap analysis report  and follow up activities of B2V1.Regarding the initiative related to Environment like say no to plastic, the visiting officers also discussed the panchayat plastic and disposal plan and appealed the citizens to shun the use of plastic.They also enquired about the Panchayats Biodiversity committees and apprised the PRIs of their role and responsibilities in preserving the local flora and fauna.The visiting officers urged the sarpanchs, panchs and senior citizens to ensure their participatory role plan formulations for effective development in their areas.
