“Back to Village” Phase II Programme (B2V2) was launched in 120 Panchayats of District Kupwara today wherein visiting officers together with assisting staff of District Administration participated in the Gram Sabhas and received feedback from the villagers with regard to their developmental issues.The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Anshul Garg, along with Joint Director Planning and team of officers participated in various Gram Sabhas, interacted with people and distributed various incentives among rural beneficiaries.Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Handwara, ACD Kupwara, SDM Karnah and SDM Lolab participated in Gram Sabhas in their respective areas.The DDC participated in the Gram Sabha Batergam, Dudwan, Aallichizab, Poshpora, Karihama,Villgam and Drugmulla and distributed school uniforms among 170 students, hearing aids and sticks among old aged persons at Batergam and Karihama.The DDC provided blankets among poor people at Karihama. He also provided Pradhan Mantri Kissan Mandan Pension Yojna(PMKMPY) cards among the beneficiaries at Batergam, Allichizab and Villgam. During the programme, the DDC inaugurated beautification programmes for various schools including MS Dudwan and MS Vilgam. The DDC planted pine (deodar) saplings at Higher Secondary School Vilgam and inaugurated Breeders Awareness Camp at the same village.During the Gram Sabhas, people projected their demands with regard to their developmental and social issues. The DDC gave a patient hearing to the people and issued on spot orders for their redressal.At Villgam, the DDC said various demands put forth by the people during Phase Ist of the Back to Village Programme were fulfilled, while-as during the current Phase of Back to Village Programme, feedback with regard to their developmental needs is being ascertained and the issues raised be addressed accordingly.The Back to Village Programme was also conducted in Handwara Sub Division where Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Nazir Ahmad Mir, participated and interacted with people in various Gram Sabhas including Baderikali, Shehlal and Behakhakher.Likewise, similar Gram Sabhas were held in Karnah and Lolab Sub Divisions where concerned Sub Divisonal Magistrates supervised the Back to Village Programme Phase II.
