Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo today formally launched the second phase of ‘Back to Village’ (B2V2) programme in the district by planting a Deodar sapling and distributed financial assistance among beneficiaries.The Deputy Commissioner planted the Sapling in the premises of Government Higher Secondary Dangiwacha, Rafiabad and distributed Rs 20.02 lakh among 272 Building and other Construction Workers as financial assistance.He also distributed LPG Chullas among the identified beneficiaries besides sports kits and commendation certificates among the youth. He also handed over sports items to some Sarpanchs for its distribution among the youths in their respective halqas.On the inaugural day of B2V2, Dr Itoo also inspected stalls of various departments viz Horticulture, Agriculture, Social Welfare, Health, Education, and J&K Bank which highlighted various flagship programmes and schemes.Speaking on the occasion, the DC highlighted the objectives of the programme and stressed upon the people to project their developmental requirements with the visiting officers. He further said that major thrust area of the programme will be to assess the progress in the follow-up of decisions in 1st phase of ‘Back to Village’.Similar functions were also organized in various places across the district wherein the concerned visiting officers carried out several social and developmental activities.
