With a mission to connect each and every house hold with piped water supply by 2022, DDC Kulgam Showkat Aijaz Bhat, today launched Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in Kulgam.On the occasion SE Hydraulic circle Anantnag/Kulgam Iftikhar Ahmad Wani, ADDC Riyaz Ahmad Sofi, ADC ,Shabir Hussain Bhat, ACR Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, JD planning Muhammad Ashraf Exn PHE, BDOs, EO’s and other officers were present on the occasion besides Councillors of Urban Local Bodies, BDC Chairpersons, Sarpanchs and Panchs were also present.The PRI’s and members of urban local bodies were also sensitised about their role and responsibility in smooth implementation of the mission.He stressed upon the concerned officers to work in close coordination to make the mission a great success in the district.The DDC added that all households of district will be connected under the scheme by 2022 and work in all the blocks will be carried out in mission mode so that the target is achieved within stipulated time.He also directed the village level water and sanitation committees and other concerned to conduct the survey of households without tap water connections in their jurisdictions and submit the report within a week.On the occasion, SE- hydraulics informed that under the mission all the households have to be connected with piped water connection by 2022.
