Punjab Social welfare and Minorities Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot has stated that while state government is committed to ensure Gainful future for SC students, it is also serious to find lasting resolution to all issues concerning them.Interacting with a Joint Action Committee delegation here at Secretariat, Mr. Dharamsot assured to resolve all genuine demands raised by joint committee of the association at the earliest. He also assured to raise the issue of reducing earlier decided fee up to 75% before the Chief Minister. The fee structure of neighbouring states would be adopted as base, he added.Private colleges are providing basic infrastructure for imparting education to SC students, he said adding it was imperative to find lasting solution to all their issues.About those colleges found indulging in irregularities in the audit conducted by state government, he also said that issue of recovering the financial amount with interest would also be discussed with the Chief Minister. He also directed the department to immediate release balance scholarship amount to SC students and submit utilization certificate to central government.Prominent amongst those present during the meeting included Principal Secretary Social Justice, Empowerment & Minorities Mr. Kirpa Shankar Saroj, Director Mr. Davinder Singh, and Deputy Director Mr. Parminder Singh Gill. The JAC was represented by Ex. Minister & Member Mr. Ashwani Shekhri, MLA Mr. Davinder Singh Ghubaya, Dr. Anshu Kataria, Mr. Charanjit Singh Walia and Mr. Nirmal Singh.
