Lt. Governor Girish Chandra Murmu today participated in the Attestation-cum-Passing out Parade of the trainee Constables of the 14th Batch of BRTC held at the Subsidiary Training Centre in Talwara, Reasi.Sh. BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary; Sh. Dilbag Singh, DGP J&K, Dr. B. Srinivas, Sh. A.K. Choudhary, Sh. S. J. M. Gillani, Sh. Abdul Ghani Mir, Sh. M.S Salaria and Sh. Muneer Ahmad Khan- ADGPs; Dr. S.D Singh Jamwal, Director SKPA Udhampur; Sh. Mukesh Singh, IGP Jammu; Sh. Pardeep Singh Kaily, Commandant 126th  Bn CRPF; Sh. Anil Kumar Katoch, Principal STC, Talwara; Ms. Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner, Reasi, besides senior police and civil functionaries were present on the occasion.Congratulating the passing out trainees on successful completion of their training, Lt. Governor advised them to perform their duties with sincerity and dedication and always remember what they have been taught in training while discharging of their duties. He congratulated the entire Police Force headed by Director General of Police, Sh. Dilbag Singh and the Principal of the STC Talwara for their efforts in imparting highly professional training to the 14th Batch of the Recruit Constables.

Underlining the importance of training, Lt. Governor observed that the training being imparted in all the training institutes needs to be upgraded on modern lines so as to counter any eventuality and the training should aim beyond the normal policing as police performs at the cutting edge of governance.

Lt. Governor hoped that the passing out cadets will maintain high standards of professionalism and serve the people with a human touch. He congratulated the parents of the trainees who had come to witness the ‘graduation ceremony’ of their wards for becoming a part of the Police family.Lt. Governor expressed satisfaction that the passing out police personnel included 107 Post-Graduates and 239 Graduates. He also conveyed his appreciation to the trainees for performing duties during the conduct of elections to the Urban Local Bodies, Panchayats and also for maintaining law and order situations, whenever required.Lt. Governor observed that the Jammu and Kashmir Police is known for its notable contributions and enormous sacrifices while dealing with militancy that has affected J&K for the last three decades.  He mentioned that acknowledging the supreme sacrifices of our Police, recently, ex-gratia relief to the families of martyred police personnel has been enhanced, promotion avenues at the Non Gazetted Level and ration money/ hardship allowances have also been increased.On the occasion, the Lt. Governor also felicitated the best performing trainees in various disciplines and took ceremonial salute at the march past. He also inspected the traditional parade by the cadets.Earlier, DGP, Sh. Dilbag Singh welcomed the Lt. Governor and gave details of various welfare measures undertaken by the Police Force for Jawans and constabulary. He said that focused attention is being devoted towards the development of infrastructure at all training centers in J&K.Reminding them of their pledge, the DGP said that the oath should serve as a guiding principle and a reminder to the passing out Trainees towards the service of the people.Sh. Anil Kumar Katoch, Principal STC, Talwara, while giving details of Attestation-cum-Passing out Parade, informed that 1152 candidates today completed their training course for recruitment as Constables.On this occasion, Tariq Ahmad was declared All-round best performer. He was conferred with a Selection Grade promotion.
