Two unidentified militants were killed in an overnight gunfight at Lawdoora village of  north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Monday morning  while as a house was partially damaged.According to wire service Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a police officer said that acting on a tip-off, a cordon was laid by police and army’s 14 Rashtriya Riffles (RR, CRPF, SOG) Bandipora , a house was sealed after they received specific inputs about the presence of  militants. “The operation started at 3 pm in the day. The hiding militants fired indiscriminately triggering a gunfight,” a police official said.  A militant was killed in the initial assault while as intermittent firing was on in the area throughout the night.With the first light of the day, police said that second militant was killed as well. The bodies of both the slain militants were recovered and their identity was being ascertained. Police said that two AK-47 guns were recovered from the site of encounter while as other war like stores and Pakistan based material including wireless devices were also recovered.On its official twitter handle, the army’s Chinar Corps, confirmed the killing of two militants stating that war like stores were recovered from the site of encounter. Meanwhile, locals said that the house where militants were hiding suffered partial damage. (KNO)
