Principal Secretary Transport Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon today visited the construction site of Inspection and Certification Centre (ICC) here at Vijaypur and took stock of pace of work on the project.Managing Director JKPCC), M Raju, Chief Engineer, JKPCC, Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur, Assistant Transport Officer Samba, besides other officers from JKPCC and transport department also accompanied.During the visit, the Principal Secretary was informed that the ICC Project spread over 61 kanals of land is being developed at an approved cost of Rs 14.40 crore. The identified land has been transferred to the motor vehicle department. The project includes construction of main building, compound wall and drainage of nallaha and construction of approach road.The Principal Secretary directed the executing agency to complete the project by ending December this year which is the deadline. He laid emphasis uon increasing the pace of work besides maintaining the quality aspect of the project.The upcoming facility in Samba has been approved by the Government and would be a model inspection and certification centre which would cater to the need of conducting quality fitness tests of vehicles.
