To facilitate the pilgrims coming from various corners of the world to Sultanpur Lodhi for 550th Gurpurab celebrations, the Punjab Government has started the free bus service to carry them from outer parkings to inner parkings which are situated nearby Gurdwara Sri Ber sahib.Deputy commissioner DPS Kharbanda said that the Punjab Government has made adequate arrangements for devotees by ensuring hassle free visit to the Gurdwara Sri Ber sahib and for that major parkings have been made on the outskirts of the city . He said that the main roads coming to city from Lohian have parking in front of FCI godown, Talwandi chaudriyan road at Village Kulliyan and RCF road at village Dadwindi and on Dalla road the parking have been made at village Mohablipur . He said that in first phase 60 buses have been deployed , which would be increased to 300 as per the requirement of the pilgrims on peak days.It may be mentioned here that the district administration has established inner parkings in the city at Lohian Chungi , Shaheed Udham Singh chowk and PUDA colony, where these buses would left the pilgrims and from there they can easily walk for 500 meter to reach the holy shrine.Meanwhile the Nodal officer for Transport Mr. Parneet Singh Minhas said that the buses have been stationed at all outer parkings besides setting up a facilitation counters at every parking. He made it clear that the buses would ply regularly and also brought the pilgrims back to their parkings after their visit to Gurdwara Sahib.
