In commemoration with 550th Birth Anniversary of founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji, a Seminar was today organized in Baramulla toady.Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr G N Itoo was chief guest on the occasion while SSP Baramulla Abdul Quyoom as the guest of honour.Programme was organized by Chief Education Office Baramulla in which students, parents, religious personalities and other prominent persons of the district also participated.Speaking on the occasion, DC complimented the participants and organizers especially the students who performed at the event. He extended his warm congratulations to the people in general and to the Sikh community in particular on Guru Nanak’s 550th birth anniversary.Dr. Itoo said that every Prophet/Saint propagates the teachings of love, empathy and compassion and stressed for inculcating the moral and religious values among the students for a well dignified and disciplined life.Speaking on the occasion, SSP highlighted some philosophical aspects of Guru’s life and said that humanism and brotherhood had been his basic tenets. He stressed for following his teachings in letter and spirit for maintaining communal harmony in the society.On the occasion, various programmes highlighting several aspects of the life of Guru Nanak Dev Ji were organized.Later, prizes and commendation certificates were distributed among the best performers.Among others, Chief Education Officer G M Lone, Deputy CEO Balbir Singh, President Gurduwara Prabandak Committee Baramulla Janak Singh Sodi, various district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
